How to use the WebP to PNG converter
- Choose the .webp files, or paste a picture you copied from a browser tab.
- Keep the original size, or set a width under More settings to match your video frame.
- Convert to PNG and download the files separately or as a ZIP.
Logos and stickers for video overlays
Brand logos, emoji-style stickers and product cut-outs are often delivered as WebP with a transparent background. PNG keeps that full alpha channel, so the image can sit on top of footage in an editor with its soft edges and shadows intact.
If the picture is a plain photo with nothing transparent, a JPG is usually the more practical choice: the PNG version of a photo can be many times larger than the WebP you started from.
What comes across
All visible pixels transfer exactly. If the WebP was saved lossily, its softness and artefacts transfer exactly too; PNG locks them in rather than cleaning them up.
Animated WebP files are read as one picture, the first frame. For moving images, a GIF or video converter is the right tool.
Batches from a browsing session
Collect the pictures you saved while researching a video, drop the whole downloads folder in, and every WebP is queued. Each PNG keeps the base name of its source file, so references in your project notes still match.
Everything is decoded and written inside your browser. Once the page has loaded you can even go offline and the queue keeps running, because nothing has to travel to a server.
Questions
Why did the file grow so much?
WebP is normally lossy and PNG never is. OxiPNG compresses the result as tightly as lossless allows, but it cannot match a lossy file.
Does it run on a phone?
Yes, in current mobile browsers. Huge images may exhaust memory on older handsets.
Can I paste instead of saving first?
Yes. Copy an image in your browser, then paste it onto this page; it joins the queue like any dropped file and comes out as a PNG.
